Dear Patient,

In January 2011, we began offering contact lens ordering via our website.  We felt this would be a valuable service to our patients.  Unfortunately, due to lack of patient participation we will no longer be able to provide online ordering after December 31, 2011.

Family Eye Care of the Carolinas appreciates your business and will continue to provide personalized service in refilling your contact lens supply.  Direct ship to your home is available through many of our suppliers.  Just call or stop by to see us!

If you have any questions or concerns please contact our office at 910-692-2020.

Thank you for understanding and continued support.

Family Eye Care of the Carolinas - Contact Lens Fitting Philosophy

As your eye care provider, we place the safety of your eyes above and beyond all else.  This drives every decision we make with respect to the contact lens recommendations we make for you.

When determining what contact lens to use for your eyes, we must consider the shape of your eyes, your individual prescription, the water content of the contact lens, the breathability (oxygen permeability) of the lens, your habitual work and avocational environments, and other factors (including the current health status of the front of your eyes).

We do not simply provide the contact lens that happens to be on sale at that time (as this is always changing) and will always consider upgrading your lens material when/if we see that better technological polymers are available or that the current lenses are causing any harm to your eyes.

Also, we recognize contact lens wear is a mutual partnership between the patient and the doctor.  We strive to provide education about wear and care regimens at each visit for our contact lens wearing patients.  Even the most technologically advanced material, if abused or not cared for properly, can lead to visually devastating consequences.

Realize that these services are above and beyond the usual care provided to non-contact-lens wearing patients.  This requires more time and increases liability as well.  Because of the increased service, there is an associated increased cost.  The only insurer that our office accepts that covers cosmetic (“routine”) contact lens services is NC Healthchoice.  Before we proceed with contact lens services, we will always provide an estimate of the cost of that service.

We are thankful that you chose us to provide your eye care and eye wear and look forward to providing many years of healthy contact lens wear to you, your friends, and your family.

Why should you purchase your contact lenses from us?
