I cannot let the exceptional Customer service that I received from Kara go unacknowledged. I first went to your facility in '09 after relocating to NC. Changing all of one's doctors is definitely not a fun task. I was thrilled when I went to Family Eye Care to not only find friendly staff but to be able to walk out with glasses that were right! Back in '09, Kara was the one who waited on me and she definitely left a lasting impression from her friendly disposition to adjusting my glasses perfectly from the first try.

My health benefits allowed me to have vision benefits this year, so I chose to try another facility that took my insurance when it came time for my 2 yr check up. I was disappointed that you were not participating but with the economy etc, I was trying to work within a budget. The experience at the other eye care facility left me running back to you and my first thought was to see if Kara was still employed. I was so happy that she was.

Kara took the time to listen to all of my concerns. I was frustrated and confused as to why my other glasses were unable to be made right. She really thought everything thru and made me feel as if it mattered to her! So few people work with integrity in this world today that it's refreshing to find someone that does.

The best part of all was that she actually called to check on me the following week. I was amazed and delighted that she took that extra step. I am still not sure if some of the things are right with my glasses (not with your labs) but I know that she will see me thru until it's resolved. I wanted to make sure you know what a 'gem' you have working there.

"On the eve of my daughter's wedding in September 2006, I stuck the tip of a fern in my eye while attempting to carry it into the church.  I went to Urgent Care in Laurinburg where they flushed out my eye, but by Saturday morning I looked and felt horrible.  There were no local optometrists in town that weekend, and I didn't know how I would make it through the day without some relief.  Luckily, a "friend of a friend" offered to call Family Eye Care of the Carolinas to see if they would help.  Dr. Poindexter agreed to meet me at his office, even though it was Saturday morning and he had a previous engagement out-of-town.  My son drove me to Aberdeen, where Dr. Poindexter examined my eye and put in what he called a "bandaid" contact lens.  As soon as he put that contact in, I felt immediate relief.  He gave me a couple of prescriptions and told me to come back for a check-up on Monday.  Because of Dr. Poindexter's kindness, I was able to see and enjoy my daughter's wedding day.  I will never forget his willingness to put his plans on hold in order to help a stranger in need.  I highly recommend Family Eye Care of the Carolinas to anyone in need of eyecare.  The entire staff is friendly and I know from personal experience that they will go "above and beyond" to help." - J.H.
