Reasons to purchase your contact lens supply through Family Eye Care of the Carolinas:

 

1. Competitive prices.  After accounting for manufacturer rebates available through our office, your cost per box is typically equal to or less expensive than other vendors.

 

2. Community support.  Our practice supports the local community (vision screenings, youth league sponsorships, etc), and we are a local tax contributor.  Purchasing your lenses from non-local vendors supports other communities, not your own.

 

3. Home delivery.  We can direct-ship most contact lenses to your home or office at little to no additional cost. You can also purchace contacts through our online store here.

 

4. Diagnostic lens availability.  Contact lens manufacturers provide Family Eye Care of the Carolinas with diagnostic lenses to assist in the fitting of the manufacturers’ lenses.  The size of our office’s diagnostic lens “bank” is proportional to the amount of product that Family Eye Care of the Carolinas distributes.  When we use diagnostic contact lenses for your fitting (to refine power, fit, comfort, etc), it depletes our diagnostic lens bank.  If we do not subsequently order contact lens supply from that vendor, the manufacturer will not replenish our diagnostic lens bank.  Therefore, we have less availability of diagnostic lenses to loan to patients in case of emergencies, such as “I ran out of lenses, and need a spare pair to get me through”, or “I tore my last lens”.  Because of this, we can only provide this (emergency/loaner lenses) to those who choose to purchase their lenses through our office, or to those who require a diagnostic lens secondary to a refitting process.

 

5. Ocular health.  As your eye care provider, we only want what is best for you.  By ordering from us, you are assured that you receive the contact lenses that were prescribed, and that you don’t receive a prescription that is expired.  This is to safeguard your ocular health.  There have been reported cases of other vendors distributing non-sterile contact lenses, or lenses that were labeled incorrectly, leading to poor comfort and possible ocular health complications.  Other vendors are only interested in “moving product”, whereas we are interested in maintaining your ocular health for a lifetime. 

 

6. Return policy.   If you have a power change or need a different contact lens design, other vendors may not allow for product exchanges/returns.  We do our best to be fair when situations like this arise, while many vendors just want another “sale”. We accept unopened and undamaged boxes of contact lenses in return for an exchange of equal value.
